1. A system comprising:
a device configured to deliver a gas flow comprising a predetermined amount of NO to a patient,
an NO sensor configured to measure the predetermined amount of NO;
a compartment having a volume of 0.5 to 1 liter that is in fluid communication with the device and configured to receive a portion of the gas flow from the device; and wherein the compartment comprises an oxygen-containing gas;
a sampling module that receives the portion of the gas flow from the compartment over a predetermined time and is configured to measure an amount of NO in the portion of the gas flow;
an analyzing module configured to determine the amount of NO in the portion of the gas and compare it to the predetermined amount of NO; and
a control module configured to adjust the NO sensor if the determined amount of NO is different from the predetermined amount of NO, wherein when the determined amount of NO is 20% greater than or 20% lower than the predetermined amount of NO, the control module adjusts the NO sensor.
