1. A reciprocating compressor, comprising:
a cylinder forming a cylinder chamber;
an intake valve disposed around the cylinder chamber;
a piston configured to reciprocate inside the cylinder;
an intake valve seat configured to seat the intake valve;
a back member located on an opposite side of the intake valve from the intake valve seat; and
an actuator configured to move a movable part including either the intake valve seat or the back member in an axial direction of the cylinder to change a movable range of the intake valve between the intake valve seat and the back member,
wherein the actuator is configured to change the movable range of the intake valve during an operating cycle that includes an intake stroke, in which a gas is sucked into the cylinder chamber, and a discharge stroke, in which the gas compressed by the piston is discharged from the cylinder chamber.
