1. A gas generation method for generating a mixture of a plurality of gases to be distributed in a petroleum product reservoir, the gas generation method comprising:
providing at least one carbon-based fuel reforming apparatus;
reforming at least one type of carbon-based fuel with the at least one carbon-based fuel reforming apparatus for generating:
a carbon monoxide gas;
a carbon dioxide gas; and
a hydrogen gas;
providing a gas conditioning and compression apparatus connected to the at least one carbon-based fuel reforming apparatus;
processing the carbon dioxide gas and the carbon monoxide gas with the gas conditioning and compression apparatus;
determining a desired distribution ratio of the carbon dioxide gas and the carbon monoxide gas based on at least one condition associated with the petroleum product reservoir; and
distributing with a controller, the desired distribution ratio of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide to the petroleum product reservoir.
