1. A method of assembling a cycling apparatus, the method comprising:
coupling a wheel to a fork assembly; and
coupling a fender directly to the fork assembly via an engagement portion of the fender, the engagement portion being disposed between a front portion of an elongated body of the fender and a rear portion of the elongated body of the fender, the front portion extending a first length from the engagement portion to a first, leading end of the elongated body and the rear portion extending a second length to a second, trailing end of the elongated body, the second length being greater than the first length, and wherein the elongated body comprises a single-piece structure extending between the first, leading end and the second, trailing end,
wherein coupling the fender directly to the fork assembly comprises positioning a portion of the wheel within a hollow cavity defined by an inner surface of the elongated body of the fender such that a maximum distance between a rotational axis of the wheel and an inner surface of the fender is at a peak point in the inner surface of the elongated body of the fender.
