1. A connection system for connecting gas delivery components of a continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) system that is configured to deliver a pressurized flow of breathable gas to a patient's airways, the connection system comprising:
a first conduit with a first lumen forming a first part of a gas flow path for the breathable gas, one end of the first conduit comprising a first connector with a first magnet;
a second conduit with a second lumen forming a second part of the gas flow path for the breathable gas, one end of the second conduit comprising a second connector with a second magnet, the second connector being configured to be joined to the first connector to form a sealed connection by way of moving the first and second connectors toward each other in an axial direction; and
a cover comprising two arms connected to each other by a hinge and a locking mechanism at an end of at least one of the two arms, the cover being configured to enclose a joint created when the sealed connection is made,
wherein the first and second connectors are configured to be held together by a magnetic force between the first and second magnets, and
wherein the first and second connectors are configured to be separated from each other by pivoting the first and second arms of the cover relative to each other.
