1. A dose tracking mechanism for use in a drug delivery device, the dose tracking mechanism comprising:
a housing;
a moveable component configured to move with respect to the housing during operation of the drug delivery device; and
an RFID device comprising:
an electric circuit having a resonance frequency, the electric circuit comprising:
an antenna configured to transmit a wireless RFID signal at the resonance frequency, and
an electrical component operatively coupled to the moveable component and configured to modify the resonance frequency based on a position of the moveable component, such that the resonance frequency of the electric circuit is an indication of the position of the moveable component, wherein the electrical component is a variable resistor comprising a conductor disposed in a track along the moveable component, and
wherein the resonance frequency is an indication of at least one of: a set dose of medicament, a dispensed dose of medicament, or a total dose of medicament remaining in the drug delivery device.
