1. An expanded population of γδ T cells obtained by a method comprising the steps of:
(i) providing a population of γδ T cells obtained from a non-haematopoietic tissue, wherein the non-haematopoietic tissue is skin or gut; and
(ii) culturing the population of γδ T cells in the presence of:
a. I1-2 or IL-9;
b. IL-15; and
c. IL-21;
for at least 5 days in amounts effective to produce an expanded population of γδ T cells.
