aligning, with the eye to receive the liquid, a device having a reservoir within which the liquid is accommodated, one or more apertures through which the liquid from the reservoir is dispensed, a valve member having a tip in a fluid-tight seal with the one or more apertures, and an actuator to deliver mechanical vibration directly to the valve member so that the tip of the valve member is disengaged from the one or more apertures to permit the liquid to be dispensed from the reservoir;
activating the actuator to deliver the mechanical vibrations to at least the valve member to disengage the valve member from the one or more apertures and to dispense the liquid through the one or more apertures; and
delivering a volume of good to the eye of the patient;
where the device includes a diaphragm which is affixed to the valve member and upon which the actuator delivers mechanical vibration to generate pressure in the liquid to dispense the liquid through the one or more apertures.
