1. A retractable catheter system for delivery and deployment of an intravascular device, the catheter system having a distal end and a proximal end, comprising:
an inner tube having a lumen,
a housing structure at the proximal end of said catheter system, said housing structure having a distal end and a proximal end, wherein the inner tube is affixed to the housing structure; and
a retractable sleeve comprising a sleeve tube and a sleeve tip, said sleeve tube having a proximal end and a distal end, said sleeve tube coaxially extending substantially along the length of the inner tube, and the sleeve tip having in the deployed state a distal end sealed to the inner tube and a proximal end fixed to the distal end of the sleeve tube forming a sealed chamber capable of containing a fluid, wherein in a pre-deployment state the sleeve tip forms a double layered sheath and the intravascular device is mounted in a radial space between the inner tube and the sleeve tip.
