1. A surgical instrument, comprising:
a shaft assembly comprising a first handle and an elongate shaft with a distal tip configured to couple to a bone anchor assembly;
a carrier assembly operatively coupled to the first handle and configured to rotate with the shaft assembly in response to rotation of the first handle; and
a depth adjuster operatively coupled to the carrier assembly and defining a longitudinal slot configured to laterally receive and seat a stylet, the depth adjuster being movable between a first position in which the depth adjuster is disengaged from the carrier assembly and a held stylet is repositionable relative to the depth adjuster, and a second position in which the depth adjuster is engaged with the carrier assembly and a held stylet is longitudinally fixed relative to the depth adjuster.
