1. A surgical clamp comprising:
a pair of opposing jaws, comprising a movable jaw and a fixed jaw,
wherein each of the opposing jaws comprises a straight proximal region and a distal foot-like region comprising a heel section, a toe section and an arch section connecting the heel section with the toe section, and
wherein the heel section is connected directly and approximately orthogonally to a distal termination of the straight proximal region so that the distal foot-like region and the straight proximal region reside in a common plane and form one single piece, wherein at least the toe section and the straight proximal region reside in th common plane; and
a hinge defining a hinge axis, wherein the opposing jaws reside in respective planes parallel to the hinge axis,
wherein the straight proximal regions of each of the opposing jaws are connected to the hinge to allow the movable jaw to rotate about the hinge between a closed state and an open state of the opposing jaws,
wherein, in the closed state, the opposing jaws are configured to grip one or more bones of a patient.
