1. A medical system, comprising:
an occlusive implant having a distal end and a proximal end, the occlusive implant comprising a flexible body with a covering that comprises a plurality of fibers in the form of a braid, wherein at least one fiber of the plurality of fibers extends from the covering in the form of a loop at the proximal end of the occlusive implant;
an elongate tubular member having an inner lumen;
an elongate pusher member slidable within the inner lumen and having a distal end region with a recess adapted to releasably hold the at least one fiber in the form of the loop; and
a distal release structure that allows manipulation of the distal end of the occlusive implant relative to the proximal end of the occlusive implant.
