1. A sleep diagnostic and screening device comprising:
a respiratory belt comprising a conductor and two male electromechanical connectors,
a pulse oximeter adapted to be connected to an input connector on the data acquisition unit for the pulse oximeter, and
a data acquisition unit comprising:
only two data acquisition unit female belt connectors each adapted to provide both an electrical and mechanical connection of the data acquisition unit to the respiratory belt's two male electromechanical connectors without a need for additional mechanical connectors to connect the data acquisition unit to the respiratory belt;
a battery adapted for providing power to the data acquisition unit;
at least two input channels and a port, the input channels each having an input connector and for inputting sleep data from the respiratory belt and the pulse oximeter;
a pressure transducer internal to the data acquisition unit and connected to the port, the port adapted for attaching a nasal cannula adapted to measure sleep data of airflow from a subject with the pressure transducer;
a memory module;
at least one electronic component adapted for collecting and storing the sleep data from the pressure transducer, the pulse oximeter and the respiratory belt on the memory module; and
a light emitting diode;
wherein the light emitting diode of the data acquisition unit is adapted to indicate whether the sensors are properly attached to the data acquisition unit, and, if functioning that the data acquisition unit is recording the data, and further wherein each of the female electromechanical connectors of the data acquisition unit and the male electromechanical connectors of the respiratory belt are each themselves complementary multi-pin electromechanical connectors.
