1. A maleimide-based copolymer comprising 40 to 60% by mass of an aromatic vinyl monomer units, 5 to 20% by mass of a vinyl cyanide monomer units, 35 to 50% by mass of a maleimide-based monomer units, and 0.5 to 10% by mass of unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride monomer units in the maleimide-based copolymer,
wherein a tetrahydrofuran solution containing 4% by mass of the copolymers has a transmittance of 90% or more for light having a wavelength of 450 nm at an optical path length of 10 mm,
an amount of the residual maleimide-based monomers is less than 300 ppm, and wherein the vinyl cyanide monomer units are present at greater than 5%.
