1. An apparatus for applying negative pressure therapy to a wound, the apparatus comprising:
a source of negative pressure configured to be fluidically connected via a fluid flow path with a wound covered by a wound dressing;
a pressure sensor configured to monitor pressure in the fluid flow path; and
a controller in communication with the pressure sensor, the controller being configured to:
determine a first pressure in the fluid flow path from the pressure sensor without synchronizing determination of pressure in the fluid flow path with at least one of opening or closing of at least one of an inlet valve or an outlet valve of the source of negative pressure responsive to an activity level of the source of negative pressure being below a first activity threshold associated with the source of negative pressure being active and being above a second activity threshold associated with the source of negative pressure being inactive, and
operate the source of negative pressure using the first pressure in the fluid flow path.
