1. A lumbar support, comprising:
first and second belt members each including first and second end portions, the first and second belt members detachably securable to one another by overlapping and engaging the second end portions thereof;
a closure system arranged to permit movement of the first and second belt members between first and second linear directions, the closure system including first and second pulley connectors each carrying at least one pulley and securing to the first end portions of the first and second belt members, respectively;
a first tensioning element having a handle located at a first end portion thereof and adapted to engage a surface material of the first belt member to adjust the closure system, the first tensioning element having a second end portion extending through the at least one pulley of the first pulley connector and spanning a clearance between the second end portions of the first and second belt members;
a second tensioning element having a handle located at a first end portion thereof and adapted to engage a surface material of at least one of the first and second belt members to adjust the closure system, the second tensioning element having a second end portion extending through the at least one pulley of the first and second pulley connectors and spanning a clearance between the second end portions of the first and second belt members;
a covering concealing the closure system, the first end portions of the first and second belt members being located generally within the covering, with a remainder of the first and second belt members including the second end portions extending outside of the covering, the covering being adjustably securable to the first and second belt members;
further comprising first and second belt attachments removably coupling the first and second belt members to the first and second connectors;
a back plate connected to the closure system, the back plate having first and second sides, with the first side arranged to be placed adjacent a user's body;
wherein the first and second belt attachments are defined as a pair of flaps having opposed surfaces of hook-and-loop material and arranged to engage corresponding hook-and-loop material of the first and second belt members;
wherein the first and second belt attachments are stitched to the first and second pulley connectors.
