1. A surgical apparatus comprising
a dual column surgical table having spaced-apart first and second lift columns and a patient support suspended between the first and second columns, the patient support being rotatable about an axis that extends between upper regions of the first and second lift columns, the patient support including a beam adapted to support a head and torso region of a patient and a leg section coupled to the beam, and
a lateral support coupled to the beam, the lateral support including an L-shaped bracket having a first section that is coupled to the beam and slidable therealong and a second section that is offset from the beam and that extends from the first section in perpendicular relation to the first section, the lateral support further including an extension that extends from the second section of the L-shaped bracket in parallel relation with the second section, wherein the first section of the L-shaped bracket is longer than the second section of the L-shaped bracket.
