1. A display device, comprising:
a substrate;
a transistor disposed on the substrate, the transistor including an active layer, a gate electrode, a source electrode, and a drain electrode;
a first insulating layer disposed on the transistor and directly contacting an upper surface of at least one of the source electrode and the drain electrode of the transistor;
a second insulating layer disposed on and directly contacting the first insulating layer, the second insulating layer being of integral single-piece construction;
a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode disposed on the second insulating layer to be adjacent to each other; and
a third insulating layer disposed on the second insulating layer, a portion of the third insulating layer disposed above a top surface of the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode, wherein
the second insulating layer includes a first opening disposed between the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode,
the first insulating layer includes a portion that completely overlaps the first opening,
the third insulating layer includes a portion that directly contacts the first insulating layer, and
the third insulating layer includes a groove or an opening that overlaps the first opening.
