1. A method, comprising executing logic on at least one programmable integrated circuit of an information handling system to perform the following:
determining a current viewing distance between a closest surface of a face of a current human user and the display screen area of the video display device, the closest surface of the face of the current human user being the surface of the face of the human user that is closest to the display screen area of the video display device; and
then adjusting a displayed image characteristic of an image displayed on the display screen area based on the determined current viewing distance between the closest surface of the face of the current human user and the display screen area.
