1. A server-side computing system comprising:
a processor configured by machine-readable instructions to:
securely authenticate a user using a multi-factor authentication application to establish an authenticated user for a symbol-based event, wherein secure authentication of the user occurs over a distributed computing system that includes the server-side computing system and a client-side computing system, and wherein a graphical user interface (GUI) for the symbol-based event is output to a display of the client-side computing system;
determine a trigger event corresponding to the authenticated user accessing the symbol-based event at the client-side computing system;
output, to the display a first update to the GUI, the first update based on a personal bank value corresponding to the authenticated user, wherein the server-side computing system stores multiple personal bank values for multiple users;
determine, in response to a first activation request, a first result of performing a first instance of the symbol-based event, the first result indicating a change to the personal bank value corresponding to the authenticated user, wherein the change is based on a set of symbols selected for the first instance of the symbol-based event, and wherein the GUI is changed to reflect the change in the personal bank value corresponding to the authenticated user; and
output, to the display in response to the first activation request, a second update to the GUI, the second update including at least the first result of performing the first instance of the symbol-based event.
