1. A method of showing a power state of a gun, the method comprising:
determining, at the gun, a battery power level representing an amount of charge remaining in a battery of the gun;
selecting a color that represents the battery power level;
generating, at a light-emitting diode, a solid light pattern to indicate that the gun is receiving power;
determining, based on a charge sensor, that the gun is receiving power from an external power supply; and
generating, at the light-emitting diode, a flashing light pattern to indicate that the gun is receiving power.
