1. A controller for a fluid treatment control valve having a valve body with a seal stack positioned therein, the controller comprising:
a front housing;
a rear housing removably connected to the front housing to define a substantially enclosed volume;
a gear box mounted within the substantially enclosed volume; and
a circuit board assembly mounted within the substantially enclosed volume;
wherein the rear housing includes at least one first retention element and the valve body includes at least one second retention element; and
wherein the controller is removable from the valve body while the rear housing is connected to the front housing by disengaging the at least one first retention element from the at least one second retention element.
