1. A door lock apparatus, comprising:
an escutcheon configured for mounting to a door, the escutcheon including a first side wall;
a non-circular spring cage including a first flat side wall; and
a spindle rotatably mounted to the spring cage for rotation relative to the spring cage about a rotational axis; and
wherein the first flat side wall of the non-circular spring cage is engaged against the first side wall of the escutcheon to inhibit rotation of the spring cage relative to the escutcheon about the rotational axis.
