1. An oil, grease, and water-resistant composition comprising a matrix of starch, cellulosic fiber, and an internal sizing agent; wherein the composition is prepared by:
blending cellulosic fiber in water to create a fiber/water mixture;
blending the fiber/water mixture with starch granules and a sizing agent;
forming the fiber/starch/sizing agent blend into a sheet;
compressing and heating the sheet until nearly dry but still pliable;
forming the nearly dry sheet into an article; and
drying the article;
wherein the starch is about 30 to about 50 wt % of the composition;
wherein no fluorocarbons or auxiliary binders are in the composition;
wherein the composition is not covered by oil resistant, hot-water resistant, or cold-water resistant coatings;
wherein the composition optionally comprises a filler material; and
wherein the composition is oil, grease, and water-resistant.
