1. A negative pressure wound therapy apparatus comprising:
a source of negative pressure configured to be in fluidic communication with a wound via a fluid flow path and further configured to provide a negative pressure wound therapy to the wound; and
a control circuitry configured to operate the source of negative pressure, the control circuitry being further configured to:
monitor a level of activity of the source of negative pressure,
maintain a value in a memory indicative of the level of activity of the source of negative pressure, the value being represented by a number of bits,
determine that the value is saturated as a result of the level of activity of the source of negative pressure satisfying a preset threshold level of activity that corresponds to a maximum or minimum value representable with the number of bits,
detect a presence of an abnormal operating condition associated with provision of the negative pressure wound therapy responsive to a determination that the value is saturated, and
provide an indication responsive to a detection of the presence of the abnormal operating condition.
