1. A surgical system comprising:
an end effector configured to grasp tissue and provide therapeutic treatment to tissue;
a motor configured to power one or more operations of the end effector;
a motor drive circuit configured to control power provided to the motor; and
a motor control circuit configured to:
provide a motor drive signal to the motor drive circuit, the motor drive signal being a default control for the therapeutic treatment of the tissue, and
adaptively control elements of the motor drive circuit to control deceleration of the motor in the absence of the motor drive signal.
