1. A surface cleaning apparatus comprising:
a cleaning head including an agitator chamber; and
an agitator configured to be coupled to said cleaning head at least partially within said agitator chamber and to be rotated about a pivot axis extending along a longitudinal axis, said agitator including an elongated agitator body, a first lateral end region, a second lateral end region, and a central region disposed between said first and said second lateral end region, said agitator further comprising:
a first hair migration region extending from said central region towards said first end region, said first hair migration region comprising:
a first row of bristles at least partially revolved around and extending outward from said elongated agitator body within said first hair migration region; and
a first sidewall substantially parallel and immediately adjacent to a first side of said first row of bristles within said first hair migration region;
a second hair migration region extending from said central area towards said second end region, said second hair migration region comprising:
a second row of bristles at least partially revolved around and extending outward from said elongated agitator body within said second hair migration region; and
a second sidewall substantially parallel and immediately adjacent to a first side of said second row of bristles within said second hair migration region; and
a plurality of protrusions in a comb configuration extending from said agitator chamber such that a position of said plurality of protrusions is fixed relative to said agitator chamber while said agitator is rotating within said agitator chamber and while said plurality of protrusions contact at least one of said first and said second sidewalls of said first and said second hair migration regions, wherein said first row of bristles and said first sidewall of said first hair migration region is configured to migrate hair in a first direction towards a collection area disposed within said central region of said agitator and wherein said second row of bristles and said second sidewall of said second hair migration region is configured to migrate hair in a second direction towards the collection area disposed within said central region of said agitator, said first direction being generally opposite of said second direction.
