               1. A method for producing a polysaccharide, comprising:
            extracting broccoli with hot water to obtain an extract;
                subjecting the extract to ethanol precipitation;
                subjecting obtained precipitates to dialysis and freeze drying to obtain a freeze-dried product;
                subjecting the freeze-dried product to column chromatography;
                collecting peak fractions that give C value (contraction value) of 0.15 or more based on Silkworm Muscle Contraction Assay as purified fractions containing eluted sugars;
                subjecting the peak fractions to dialysis and freeze drying;
                hydrolyzing the freeze-dried peak fractions with oxalic acid to obtain a hydrolyzed product; and
                separating the polysaccharide from the hydrolyzed product,
                wherein the polysaccharide has innate immune stimulating activity, and comprises: 25 to 45 parts by mole of galacturonic acid, 20 to 50 parts by mole of galactose, 1 to 7 parts by mole of glucose, 0 to 10 parts by mole of arabinose, 0 to 6 parts by mole of xylose, and 4 to 14 parts by mole of rhamnose as constituent sugars; and a polygalacturonic acid chain having α-1,4-linked galacturonic acid as a main chain.
