1. A modular spinal implant adapted for implantation into a surgically created cavity; the modular spinal implant comprising:
a) an annular central section comprising a first longitudinal end groove and an opposed second longitudinal end groove;
b) a first tongue, extending from a first inward side of a first anchor, configured to interlock with the first longitudinal end groove connecting the first anchor to the annular central section and a second outward side of the first anchor comprising first grippers adapted to engage first site of the surgically created cavity; and
c) a second tongue, extending from an inner side of a second anchor, configured to interlock with the second longitudinal end groove connecting the second anchor to the annular central section and a second outer side of the second anchor comprising second grippers adapted to engage the a second site of the surgically created cavity, wherein the modular spinal implant is assembled in the surgically created cavity or prior to implantation into the surgically created cavity.
