1. A method for carbon dioxide (CO2) separation, the method comprising:
feeding a first CO2 feed stream into two or more first sorbent beds at a first pressure and a first temperature;
collecting a CO2-depleted stream from the two or more first sorbent beds approximately at the first pressure and the first temperature;
feeding a steam stream into the two or more first sorbent beds approximately at the first pressure and the first temperature;
collecting a CO2-enriched stream from the two or more first sorbent beds approximately at the first pressure and the first temperature;
connecting each of the two or more first sorbent beds to the CO2 feed stream and the CO2-depleted stream in a first configuration; and
connecting each of the two or more first sorbent beds to the steam stream and the CO2-enriched stream in a second configuration,
wherein the two or more first sorbent beds are connected in parallel, and each comprise an alkalized sorbent comprising a substrate and at least one alkali or alkaline earth component in an amount of at least about 10 weight percent of the alkalized sorbent.
