1. A wireless communication device, comprising:
an interface to an antenna;
a baseband modem, configured to send and receive wireless signals via the interface according to a Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) wireless protocol;
and a processor, configured to:
select from one or more processing tasks an offload processing task for performance by Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) device;
cause the baseband modem to establish a direct wireless connection between the wireless communication device and the MEC, via the interface to the antenna, wherein the direct wireless connection to the MEC is a V2X connection;
cause the baseband modem to send first data to the MEC via the direct wireless connection, wherein the first data correspond to the offload processing task; and
receive, via the baseband modem, second data from the MEC, wherein the second data comprise a result of the offload processing task performed on the first data;
wherein the processor is configured to select the offload processing task based on one or more offloading criteria; and
wherein the one or more offloading criteria comprise a computational demand of the offload processing task.
