1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that when executed by one or more processors cause the one or more processors to:
receive one or more images captured by an imaging device having a field of view;
display the one or more received images on a display;
receive a first user input to define at least part of a first region of non-interest on one or more of the received images, wherein the first region of non-interest includes only a portion of the field of view of the imaging device and is defined by one or more boundary vertices;
receive a second user input to select and reposition one or more of the boundary vertices of the first region of non-interest to redefine the first region of non-interest;
ignore any motion in the field of view of the imaging device that occurs inside of the first region of non-interest; and
provide a motion alert when motion is detected in the field of view of the imaging device that occurs outside of the first region of non-interest.
