1. An accessory configured for connection to an image capture device, the accessory comprising:
a main housing including:
an outer frame;
an insert positioned within the outer frame and including an extension defining a circumferential channel; and
a sealing member received by the circumferential channel;
a lens assembly supported by the main housing such that the lens assembly nests within the insert, the lens assembly configured to vary fields-of-view of the image capture device such that the image capture device operates with a first field-of view in a first optical mode prior to connection of the accessory and operates with a second, different field-of-view subsequent to connection of the accessory; and
a mounting plate connected to the main housing and including:
a central opening having a non-circular configuration defining a first slot and a second slot positioned in diametrical opposition;
a first guide member extending from the first slot;
a second guide member extending from the second slot, wherein the first guide member and the second guide member define arc lengths of approximately 90 degrees and thicknesses that vary along the arc lengths thereof such that rotation of the accessory in a first direction causes inward axial displacement of the accessory to facilitate connection of the accessory to the image capture device and rotation of the accessory in a second, opposite direction causes outward axial displacement of the accessory to facilitate disconnection of the accessory from the image capture device; and
apertures receiving mechanical fasteners such that the mechanical fasteners extend through the mounting plate and into the main housing.
