1. A computer-implemented method for facilitating onboarding of a device added to a network, the method comprising:
receiving, at a facilitator, device information of a device on a same network as the facilitator has failed to successfully complete an onboarding process with an owner service;
sending at least some of the received device information to a rendezvous server (RV) to enable the RV to confirm validity of the device;
receiving, from the RV following its confirmation of validity of the device, an address of the owner service from the RV for the device;
sending to the owner service, using the address received from the RV, at least some of the received device information to enable the owner service to confirm validity of the device;
receiving, from the owner service following its confirmation of validity of the device, ownership proof information related to the device;
sending to the device at least some of the ownership proof information to enable the device to confirm validity of the owner service;
receiving, from the device following confirmation of validity of the owner service by the device, an indication that the device trusts the facilitator; and
responsive to the indication that the device trusts the facilitator, changing one or more settings on the device to enable the device to complete the onboarding process.
