1. A method comprising:
generating, by a conference provider, a virtual space, the virtual space persistent independently of any members being present within the virtual space;
adding a plurality of members to the virtual space, each member representing a discrete entity;
adding one or more resources to the virtual space in response to one or more inputs from one or more of the members;
adding a physical video conference room to the virtual space as a member of the virtual space to enable the physical video conference room to access to the one or more resources within the virtual space and be accessible by other members of the virtual space;
receiving from the virtual space a request from a first member of the virtual space to initiate a conference with a second member of the virtual space, wherein the first or second member is the physical video conference room;
in response to the request, initiating, by the conference provider, the conference between the first and second members;
attaching the conference to the virtual space; and
providing an indication of the conference in the virtual space.
