1. An apparatus for user identification, the apparatus comprising:
at least one memory comprising instructions;
a photoacoustic plethysmography sensor configured to capture a plurality of biosignals over a period of time, the plurality of biosignals indicative of a blood perfusion of an enrolled user of the apparatus, wherein the plurality of biosignals are captured photoacoustically; and
at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and configured to:
obtain the plurality of biosignals from the photoacoustic plethysmography sensor;
combine the plurality of biosignals to determine an expected range of feature values for the plurality of biosignals;
store, in the at least one memory, the expected range of feature values for the plurality of biosignals in at least one template for the enrolled user;
obtain at least one additional biosignal from the photoacoustic plethysmography sensor, the at least one additional biosignal indicative of a blood perfusion of a user of the apparatus;
determine at least one feature from the at least one additional biosignal;
determine whether the at least one feature falls within the expected range of feature values stored in the at least one template for the enrolled user;
determine, based on determining whether the at least one feature falls within the expected range of feature values stored in the at least one template, whether the user matches the enrolled user; and
output an indication of whether the user matches the enrolled user.
