1. A method for performing printing operations using a hot folder, the method comprising:
receiving, at the hot folder associated with a printing device, a file for a print job to be printed at the printing device;
processing the print job at a digital front end (DFE) of the printing device;
invoking a script to be executed using the file within the hot folder;
creating a temporary folder corresponding to the file, wherein the temporary folder is separate from the hot folder within the DFE;
storing the file to the temporary folder with the script;
suspending processing of the file within the hot folder when the temporary folder is active;
executing the script within the temporary folder storing the file, wherein the script is not executed within the hot folder;
monitoring execution of the script; and
deleting the temporary folder when the script related to the file in the temporary folder is done executing.
