1. An electronics module for a wearable article, the electronics module comprising:
an input unit comprising a motion sensor arranged to detect an input event indicative of a wearable device being brought into proximity with the electronics module; a communicator that communicates with the wearable device; and
a controller arranged to operate in a first power mode in which components of the electronics module lack full functionality and a second power mode,
wherein the first power mode consumes less power than the second power mode, and
wherein the controller is arranged to transition from the first power mode to the second power mode in response to the input unit detecting the input event,
wherein, when in the second power mode, the controller is arranged to control the communicator, and the electronics module is arranged to receive a control signal from the wearable device, which in response to receipt of the control signal, the controller may remain in the second power mode or transition to the first power mode.
