1. A computer-implemented method, executed by a processor, to represent telematics data, the computer-implemented method comprising:
generating, with the processor, a series of simplified straight lines representing a trip based on first telematics data including a series of points representing the trip;
representing, with the processor, a physical traversal through a physical intersection of roads captured in the first telematics data by one or more pairs of ordinals determined based on the series of simplified straight lines, wherein for each pair of ordinals, of the one or more pairs of ordinals:
each ordinal of the pair of ordinals represents a respective road of the physical intersection,
each ordinal of the pair of ordinals represents a speed limit associated with a respective road of the physical intersection, or
each ordinal of the pair of ordinals represents a characteristic associated with a respective road of the physical intersection; and
storing, with the processor, the one or more pairs of ordinals as second telematics data.
