1. A lighting apparatus for illuminating a workspace, comprising:
a base configured as a modular structure;
a mounting surface on a top surface of the base and arranged in a fixed undulating pattern defined by alternating convex and concave deviations from a reference axis; and
a plurality of light sources removably securable to the mounting surface, wherein the undulating pattern of the mounting surface scatters light from the light sources to reduce shadow formation and enhance illumination uniformity without external occluding elements, wherein the base has a longitudinal length greater than a width, wherein the mounting surface on the top surface of the base has a normal vector that is perpendicular to the longitudinal length and the width, wherein the fixed undulating pattern of the mounting surface orients the removably securable light sources to project perpendicular to the longitudinal length and the width of the base and scatters light from the light sources to reduce shadow formation and enhance illumination uniformity without external occluding elements.
