1. A ladder comprising:
a base section including a first base rail and a second base rail in a spaced relationship with the first base rail and a plurality of base rungs attached to and extending between the first and second base rails;
a fly section including a first fly rail and a second fly rail in a spaced relationship with the first fly rail and a plurality of fly rungs attached to and extending between the first fly rail and the second fly rail, the fly section in sliding engagement with the base section; and
a lock assembly including a base lock portion attached to the base section and a fly lock portion including a plunger and attached to the fly section, the fly lock portion engages and disengages with the base lock portion via movement of the plunger to lock the base section and the fly section relative to one another,
wherein the base lock portion includes a socket disposed in one of a plurality of base rungs and the fly lock portion includes a flip lock with a flip axle disposed in one of the plurality of fly rungs and an extension portion that fits into the socket to secure the fly section to the base section and prevent inadvertent movement thereof when the fly and the base section are locked together.
