1. A fiber reinforced composite component, comprising:
a first textile layer comprising a plurality of first stretch-broken carbon fibers;
a second textile layer comprising a plurality of second stretch-broken carbon fibers;
a first layer of ceramic particles located between the first textile layer and the second textile layer, the first layer of ceramic particles comprising a first volume of boron carbide powder located over the first textile layer;
a first carbon matrix material encapsulating the plurality of first stretch-broken carbon fibers, the plurality of second stretch-broken carbon fibers, and the first layer of ceramic particles, wherein the first carbon matrix material defines a first plurality of pores;
a first silicon material located in the first plurality of pores;
a third textile layer comprising a plurality of third stretch-broken carbon fibers;
a second layer of ceramic particles located between the second textile layer and the third textile layer, the second layer of ceramic particles comprising a second volume of boron carbide powder located over the second textile layer;
a second carbon matrix material encapsulating the plurality of second stretch-broken carbon fibers, the plurality of third stretch-broken carbon fibers, and the second layer of ceramic particles, wherein the second carbon matrix material defines a second plurality of pores; and
a second silicon material located in the second plurality of pores,
wherein the first silicon material and the second silicon material substantially fills the first plurality of pores and the second plurality of pores under silicon melt infiltration to form the fiber reinforced composite component.
