1. An impactor for kinetically impacting compound materials comprising constituent materials of different mechanical characteristics, the impactor comprising:
a chamber comprising a peripheral wall having a non-planar shape, the peripheral wall including a first non-planar wall-section and a second non-planar wall section facing the first non-planar wall section; and
a shockwave generator comprising a first pair of electrodes associated with the first non-planar wall section and a second pair of electrodes associated with the second non-planar wall section;
wherein the shockwave generator is configured to generate a first shockwave via an electrical breakdown of a liquid in a first gap between the first pair of electrodes and a second shockwave in a second gap between the second pair of electrodes,
wherein the non-planar shape of the first non-planar wall-section and a predetermined position of the first gap with respect to the first non-planar wall-section control a wavefront of a portion of the first shockwave reflected from the first non-planar wall section, and wherein the non-planar shape of the second non-planar wall-section and a predetermined position of the second gap with respect to the second non-planar wall-section control a wavefront of a portion of the second shockwave reflected from the second non-planar wall section.
