1. A system comprising:
an implantable medical lead comprising:
an electrode at a distal end of the implantable medical lead; and
a lead electrical connector at a proximal portion of the implantable medical lead, the lead electrical connector electrically coupled to the electrode; and
a medical lead adapter comprising an adapter body defining a longitudinal axis, the medical lead adapter configured to couple to the lead electrical connector at the proximal portion of the implantable medical lead and allow rotation of the proximal portion relative to the adapter body when the proximal portion is received by the medical lead adapter, the medical lead adapter further comprising:
a rotational electrical coupling configured to electrically connect the lead electrical connector to a test device and allow rotation of the proximal portion of the implantable medical lead relative to the adapter body, the rotational electrical coupling comprising:
a first conductive component configured to be electrically connected to the lead electrical connector and rotate relative to the adapter body with the proximal portion of the implantable medical lead, wherein the first conductive component is coaxial with the longitudinal axis, wherein at least a portion of the first conductive component is configured to extend proximally of a proximal end of the implantable medical lead when the first conductive component is electrically connected to the lead electrical connector, and wherein the first conductive component is rotatable about the longitudinal axis with the proximal portion of the implantable medical lead when the proximal portion of the implantable medical lead is rotated; and
a second conductive component electrically connected to and disposed proximal of the first conductive component, wherein the second conductive component is coaxial with the longitudinal axis, and wherein the second conductive component is rotationally fixed relative to the adapter body when the proximal portion of the implantable medical lead is rotated,
wherein the second conductive component abuts the first conductive component at an abutment located proximal of the proximal end of the implantable medical lead when the first conductive component is electrically connected to the lead electrical connector; and
a spring configured to maintain biased abutment between the first conductive component and the second conductive component as the first conductive component rotates relative to the adapter body.
