1. A portable inhaler, comprising:
a rotary actuation mechanism moveable sequentially and alternately between primed positions and actuated positions;
wherein the rotary actuation mechanism comprises:
a follower component, the follower component being releasable to dispense a dose as the rotary actuation mechanism moves from a primed position of the primed positions to an actuated position of the actuated positions, and able to be primed as the rotary actuation mechanism moves from the actuated position to a second primed position of the primed positions;
a rotary loading device, the rotary loading device comprising a cam component and a cage component, wherein the cam component is caged by the cage component and engaged therewith by mutually interfering mechanical features to allow a predetermined limited rotational relative movement between the cage component and the cam component;
a button, the button being translatable between a central position and an extended position, the button configured to be engaged by the cam component upon rotary movement of the rotary actuation mechanism to the primed position to translate the button to the extended position, and the button configured to engage the cam component to effect rotary movement of the rotary actuation mechanism to the actuated position as the button translates to the central position thereby releasing the follower component.
