a main housing assembly configured to be worn on a hand and a forearm of the subject, the main housing assembly comprising a motor mechanism; and
a finger interface assembly connected to the main housing assembly and configured to be secured to at least one finger of the hand and to induce, as actuated by the motor mechanism, flexion and extension motion of the at least one finger, the finger interface assembly comprising a bottom shell, a top shell, and an opening disposed between the bottom shell and the top shell and sized to receive two fingers of the hand, wherein each of the top shell and the bottom shell has a grooved, interior surface;
wherein the orthosis device is configured to leave unsecured to the orthosis device at least two fingers of the hand while the orthosis device induces the flexion and extension motion of the at least one finger secured to the finger interface assembly,
wherein the finger interface assembly extends to a tip of the at least one finger while the orthosis device is used by the subject, and
wherein each of the top shell and the bottom shell of the finger interface assembly extends from a location between a knuckle and a first joint of the subject to the tip of the at least one finger while the orthosis device is used by the subject.
