1. A wireless power receiver for performing authentication based on out-band communication, the wireless power receiver comprising:
a power pick-up circuit configured to receive wireless power from a wireless power transmitter by magnetic coupling to the wireless power transmitter at an operating frequency and convert an alternating current signal generated by the wireless power to a direct current signal;
a communication/control circuit configured to receive the direct current signal from the power pick-up circuit and to perform at least one of in-band communication using the operating frequency or out-band communication using a frequency other than the operating frequency; and
a load configured to be supplied with the direct current signal from the power pick-up circuit,
wherein the communication/control circuit performs an authentication procedure based on the out-band communication,
the wireless power receiver is an initiator of the authentication procedure, and
the wireless power transmitter is a responder of the authentication procedure,
wherein the out-band communication uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and the communication/control circuit performs the authentication procedure based on a Logical Link Control and Adaptation Protocol (L2CAP) or a Generic Attribute Profile (GATT) of the BLE,
wherein the communication/control circuit performs the authentication procedure based on the L2CAP, and
wherein the authentication procedure based on the L2CAP includes transmitting a Low Energy (LE) credit-based connection request message including identification information of a first channel related to the wireless power receiver to the wireless power transmitter, receiving an LE credit-based connection response message including identification information of a second channel related to the wireless power transmitter from the wireless power transmitter, transmitting a first LE information frame including the identification information of the second channel and an authentication request message to the wireless power transmitter, and receiving a second LE information frame including identification information of the first channel and an authentication response message from the wireless power transmitter.
