1. An electromagnetic energy converter for a remote switch, comprising:
magnetic components for generating a magnetic circuit having a magnetic flux, the magnetic components comprising at least one permanently magnetized arrangement having a permanent magnet, and at least one ferromagnetic element, the ferromagnetic element having a first portion and a second portion that is spaced away from the first portion, and
wherein the energy converter further comprises at least one electrical coil at least partially enclosing the magnetic flux,
wherein at least one of the permanently magnetized arrangement and the ferromagnetic element is movable relative to the other one between first and second extreme positions, wherein at the first extreme position, (i) the magnetic circuit is closed, (ii) the permanently magnetized arrangement contacts the first portion of the ferromagnetic element, and (iii) the permanently magnetized arrangement and the second portion of the ferromagnetic are not in contact and separated by a first gap having a first distance, and
wherein at the second extreme position, (i) the magnetic circuit is closed, (ii) the permanently magnetized arrangement contacts the second portion of the ferromagnetic element, and (iii) the permanently magnetized arrangement and the first portion of the ferromagnetic are not in contact and separated by a second gap having a second distance;
wherein the movement of the permanently magnetized arrangement and/or the ferromagnetic element between the first and second extreme positions results in a directional reversal of the magnetic flux in the magnetic circuit.
