1. A vehicle control method for a vehicle provided with an engine, a generator, a drive motor, and a filter that collects particulate matter in exhaust gas from the engine, the engine being used to drive the generator to generate electrical power, which electrical power generated by the generator is used to drive the drive motor, comprising:
motoring performed by driving the engine with the generator in a stopped state, thereby cutting off fuel to the engine and consuming electrical power;
performing a fuel cut-off prohibition of the engine based on a temperature of the filter; and
suppressing a regeneration amount by the drive motor according to when a fuel cut-off prohibition condition of the engine is satisfied.
