1. A hearing protection device comprising:
a first and second earmuff connected by a connector, wherein the first and second earmuffs are configured to provide level dependent hearing protection; and
wherein the first earmuff comprises:
a microphone;
a microphone entry, positioned on an exterior of a housing of the first earmuff, the microphone entry being configured to receive an ambient sound;
a processor configured to process the ambient sound using a level dependent function;
a speaker configured to broadcast the processed ambient sound in an interior of the first earmuff; and
an asymmetrical windscreen configured to enclose the microphone entry, and wherein the windscreen is coupled to the housing of the first earmuff, such that the windscreen encloses the microphone entry, wherein the asymmetrical windscreen comprises a longest vertical dimension and a longest horizontal dimension, and wherein the longest horizontal dimension is greater than the longest vertical dimension.
